Mon June 20th – Addition and subtraction of Fractions with different denominators

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: TO use the skills of equivalent fractions to add/subtract fractions with different denominators
SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will be able to add or subtract two fractions that have different denominators.
STARTER: Work out these fractions problems
2/5 + 1/5 = 3/53/7 + 2/7 = 5/71/8 + 3/8 =4/8 = ½
4/5 – 2/5 = 2/58/11 – 5/11 = 3/1111/12 – 3/12 8/12 = 2/3
4/15 + 8/15 = 12/15 = 4/519/21 – 5/21 = 14/21
