Tues Feb 27th – Fri 2nd March – Fractions – Working on various G and F activities.

LEARNING OBJECTVIE: You will Work on your section of Fractions problems

One of

  1. Identifying Fractions
  2. Equivalent Fractions
  3. Top Heavy Fractions / Mixed Numbers
  4. Add and Subtract Simple Fractions

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will be able to solve Fractions problems at Level G and F level, you will see that your results in the Mymthas task at the end of your section improves (100%??)

STARTER: Students collect their folders and work folders along with a laptop if they need one. They take out there checklist to see what they have to do next.

Results/Progress

LESSON: Students test themselves using MyMthas tasks at the beginning of a section and then work through some activities and test again at end to see if progress has been made.

PLENARY: Students complete their checklist, Entering results on Teacher Laptop, look at their progress and return activities to folders and laptops back to trolley

Weds 22nd / Fri 24th Feb – Fractions work – Individual tasks Work

LEARNING
OBJECTVIE: You will Work on Fractions problems

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will be able to solve Fractions problems at Level G and F level

STARTER: Reorganise students into task groups around tables with a FOLDER OF Fractions problems to tackle in each group.

Work with students to get them started on new scheme. Show how results / progress will be stored.

Students test themselves using MyMthas tasks at the beginning of a section and then work through some activities and test again at end to see if progress has been made.

PLENARY: Students complete their checklist, look at progress.

Tues 21st Feb – Individual Number work on Laptops

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: TO Work on Times Tables and Basic Number work via Mymthas Activities.

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will gain 100% in The MyMthas Tasks

STARTER: Get Laptops out and organised in lesson.

LESSON: Students to complete the following MyMthas tasks in their homework list.

  • 7 times table
  • 8 time table
  • 9 times tables
  • Mixed Tables 7,8 & 9
  • Then play Times it out game and try and get on to high score list
  • EXTENSION: Millionaires times table game

PLENARY: Checking scores, checking students work, check on High Scores table

Weds Feb 9th – Working on Level F &G Number and Fractions Work

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: To revise level G & number work AND Fractions Work

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will be able to solve level G/F number & Fractions problems

STARTER: find your topic sheet and find out what exercise you are working on. Get a text book and find the exercise to continue with.

Set up
Times it out on laptop and teacher computer and have individuals coming out to have a 5imin game trying to improve times tables.

LESSON: Students continue working through their exercises , checking answers form back of text book and asking for support when they need it.

PLENARIES: Checking with individuals how they are getting on, marking individual work, supporting students at tables, switching playes on laptop games.

Tuesday Feb 7th – Working through Level F & G Number work and Fractions

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: To revise level G & number work AND Fractions Work

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will be able to solve level G/F number & Fractions problems


STARTER: Hand out the Topic List and explain how we are going to use it to keep track of where they are. Fill in table for all exercises completed so far.- - Date them January 2012

Put todays date against the topic they are going to work through today

LESSON: Students continue working through the text book on their topic.

Remember to mark own work from answers in back of text book. Support students at their tables.

PLENARY: Checking students work in their books, supporting them with any weaknesses or problems
