Students to work thorugh each page of questoins then use answers provided to check their work, correcting any errors.

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Understand how to convert between different units of time and how to solve problems involving time.

STARTER Thursday:

Convert the following into Days, Hours and Minutes:

1. 1,500 Minutes = 25 hours - 1day & 1hour

2. 4,000 Minutes =  66 hours & 40 mins = 2 days 18 hours & 40 mins
3. 5,350 Minutes = 89 hours & 10 mins= 3 days 17 hours and 10 mins
4. 10,000 seconds = 166  mins 40 secs =  2 hours 46 mins 40 secs 

LESSON: Discuss units of time  - Secs, mins, hours, days, weeks.... and how to convert one into another. Get students to create their own  staircase to convert.

Mon 15th April - Fractions Review

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: To review and use equivalent fractions to sort and add fractions with different denominators.

SUCCESS CRITERIA: YOu will be able to add and sort fractions with different denominators

STARTER: Fraction snake

LESSON: ON IWB Using Fraction tool from echalk as an aid, look at putting two fractions in order of size.

Give students some examples to do themselves. Extend to three fractions, with examples for them to complete

Look at adding fractions using equivalences, then lots of examples to try

Fri 25th Jan - Revision of Selected topics from Mock Exam

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: To look at and practice questions that we got erong in mock exam

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will know how to solve these exam questions in next assessment.

LESSON: Hand out papers and update Flight path in Folders. Then look at some questions in Paper 2 and give lots of similar examples to practice.

Week Beginning 7th January - Revision for Mock exam at end of this week


LEARNING OBJECTIVE: To revise exam style questions

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will gain your target grade in the paper or discover what are your main areas for revision.

LESSON: Use papers that students have used over Christmas to revise. Hand out mark schemes for them to mark their own work. Students who have not attempted papers to do it in lesson.

Then let them start answering questions - as much on their own as possible, but where necessary allow discussion with staff or peers.

PLEANRIES: Copies of the mark scheme are available for students to self mark their own answers.
