Tues 3rd Jan – Friday 5th Jan – Number revision (level G and F)

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: To work through ALL Level G and F number work practising examples and ensuring we know how to solve ALL problems

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will be confident and well practiced with all of the following number problems

  • Adding in grids
  • All times tables up to 10's
  • Multiplying and dividing by 10, 100, 1000
  • BODMAS
  • Understand Place Value
  • Round numbers to nearest 10, 100, 1000
  • Adding and subtracting up to 4 digits using column method
  • Multiplying and dividing by single digits

STARTER: Adding with grids – Page 110 – work through examples with students

LESSON:

  1. Have a go at Q1 on page 111 parts g and h
  2. Check Answers
  3. Are these too easy?
  4. f yes move onto q2 Have a go at parts a,b & c before
  5. checking answers
  6. Too easy?
  7. Move onto Ex 5B Answers all questions without a calculator or referring to times table grid – you can just write down answers for all these questions

EXTENSION: Move on through rest of this chapter in a similar way – have a go at a couple of questions if too easy move to ext question if not practice more questions
